Experiencing ‘flow’

You know those moments when you forget time and place and realise only afterwards that you were in the moment without any thoughts of worries about the past or the future?

Professor in psychology Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi has studied ‘flow’ for many years and thinks that it is this state that is the secret to happiness.

Have you experienced ‘flow’? There is a lot to be learnt from analysing these moments as they give a real insight into the activities we love doing, are good at doing and come natural to us (perhaps after some practice…). It might even lead to new avenues at work or in your spare time.
